Take a look outside. Is there anything more breathtaking than the view on a perfect fall day? There’s nothing quite like the perfect natural splendor of an autumn morning, from the gentle fog of October dawn to the reds, oranges, and golds of falling leaves. And with high-performance window installation, you can have a clear and unobstructed view while sitting right next to the window on a cool day.

Cleaning Your Windows

Have you ever looked out your windows on a bluebird morning only to realize that they’re nowhere close to clean? Especially during the winter and fall months, our windows can become covered in water spots, grime, and animal residue. But getting a perfectly streak-free window can be challenging.

Here are a few tips to get your windows looking bright and clean:

1.      Check the Weather.

You don’t want to clean your windows when there’s precipitation in the air. But you also don’t want your windows to dry too quickly before you have the opportunity to properly wipe them down. Choose a day that’s dry but also cool and not too sunny for optimal window cleaning weather.

2.      Start With a Good Cleaning Solution.

It doesn’t matter what you use to clean your windows as long as it’s gentle and gets the job done. Many homeowners swear by an all-natural recipe made with vinegar and water. Liquid dish soap in warm water or other commercial cleaning products are also fine. Soapy water is your best bet for the outside of a window, which can be especially dirty. Keep a dry towel handy to help clean up spills while you’re wiping down your windows.

3.      Use a Clean Towel.

Any microfiber or lint-free fabric cloth works best for cleaning windows, but a sponge will do in a pinch. Working from the top down, wipe down the inside and outside of each window including the frame and sill. Be sure to wipe down the entire window thoroughly, watching out for smudges and especially dirty spots.

4.      Use a Drying Towel.

Once you’ve finished wiping down your window, dry it using a lint-free towel or paper towels. Working in a z-shape, go over any areas where streaks occur. If your windows are especially dirty, they may need to be cleaned twice.
